Life's Lessons Learned

This for me is somewhat of a usual post. As many of you who have read the blog, which It think there are maybe two people outside of my friends, actually read this. I’m going to be serious for a change. And really open up. So here goes, but I’ll throw my sense of humor in too.

The last year has really been a growing experience for me. I’ve always lacked self-esteem and really have doubted everything I do. I haven’t held a job and stuff like that because I believed that I couldn’t do it or wasn’t worthy of it. I know stupid, but when you’re told for years and years you’re stupid and such, then you believe it after a while. This is due to my dyslexia. No one in school knew about it or diagnosed it or anything. So for the most of my life I’ve gone through life thinking I was stupid and couldn’t do things.

Well, that began to change when I started back to school in 1999. I almost dropped out my first semester back, I didn’t do well in either class, accounting or economics and just thought I didn’t have what it take to be back in school. I swear I almost cried home after getting my first tests back. But after some serious thought I applied myself, and other then that year I have made all A’s and B’s. I mean since I’ve been back I’ve had a 3.6 or something like that, but mixed in with my other grades I’m a 2.87 now. I took all the business classes and have learned a lot.

I used to work at a catering company delivering and then got a job through a friend at a telecommunications consulting group, which something told me not to take the job, but I did and I worked there for six months. Got laid off, and I kinda felt sorry for myself but I wasn’t devastated. So, after I finished school for the semester I came to work for my family, but as most of you know that’s driving me crazy but it taught me one thing. I know what I’m doing in business. I couldn’t believe how much of my schooling came in handy and how I knew what I was doing. This really started things coming together for me. I was like, OMG I know what I’m doing. So this experience working with family is a good and a bad one.

Another turning point in my life this year is meeting J2. This is prob the most important person in my life right now. He is the only person that I have ever really opened up too. I can tell him anything and it’s all good. It’s very refreshing to have someone like that in my life. And I’m trying to change my self and get my life on track and be the person I know I can be. I think the turning point in our relationship was when the day I got him upset about not spending anytime. Things just sort of fell into place and that day I realized a lot. We talked the following Sunday night and I just feel like I know him for so much longer then I actually have.

PS I had a great weekend and a lot happened, I will update a lot more this week. So stay tuned, just havne't had time to write, but plan to do some major writing this week!
