Ok, I’ve been bured out by life and things in general. The last thing I want to do is write in the blog. But I know I need too. I have a good week last week and I’m still waiting to hear back from the one company about the job fair I went too. The whole job thing is just getting me down. I’m so tired of sending out resumes and getting nothing back, not even no thank you. So I decided if I’m gong to be rejected go all the way. I am focusing on marketing jobs. That’s what I want and I’m skipping the administrative jobs. Which I f*cking hated to begin with. A lot lately has me worred. The job and money are at the top of the list. I graduate in about two months and that damn strategy class has me stressed out as well. I am at the point I just want out of school, and I’m so damn ready for it. It’s been so many years.
I started school right after high school in 1988. Yeah way back, hell, people in first grade back then have finished college before I did! But I had to take all those developmental studies classes and I finally learned algebra. So I went full time for the first year. Then after I didn’t pass two classes in DS, remember never go to McDonald’s during the class. And come back. But the following year I took regular classes and a full load, that was the last time it happened. After that the folks said pay for it yourself. And I took one class a quarter and registered phase II so I took all my electives. My advisor said no more electives. But my major varied over the years, actually from week to week, but my declaired majors were in order: Political Science, Film, Political Science (break) Marketing, CIS, CIS/Marketing, Marketing. Why I ever tried CIS, more on that later. But Pol Sci is a total useless major unless you teach. So I took every class I could, Race relations, philosophy, and sociologies I could. But Race relations was the best. Was taught by a Korean teacher, was great.
But then I dropped out, well mainly because I never got anytime to see my ex and I had been going non stop for like 4 years or more , even summers. So I was going to take a few semesters off and go back, but I got a new job in retail, Blockbuster Music, which I had a great boss and great people to work with. And was there till 97, the break started in 94. So I left there after DRAMA and in 1998 I applied to go back, so I actually went through registration but it was like 1100 for one class and was like hell no I can’t afford that. So I waited a year and reapplied and got financial aid and I was back in 1999. Its wired going back to a school after a 5 year break. So much had changed and when I went the first time it was a community, sorta, and I was involved with many orgnizations, SGA, the yearbook (drama there too), programs board and the news paper. But this time back I was like nope not going to get involved with that, it took too much time. But I did get involved with the American Marketing Assoc. But back to the post, I started back and had to take the dreaded business core classes. Economics and Accounting the first semester back almost kicked my ass. I got a 54 on my first Accounting test, and the prof said drop it but I didn’t, and I made a come back. She said that was the first person had such a low grade and came back. GO ME, but the econ class, I had no clue about it, we had quizzes and I started strong then by the end I got the big goose egg. I thought I got a D in the class but I managed with a C, and the second semester of both I did better and got C’s in both, should have had B’s. After that I got nothing lower then a B. So I kicked ass and worked my butt off. But I started as marketing, and then changed to CIS, why I don’t know why. That was the stupidest move I ever made, but then after the tech failure I said hey I’ll do a double major, it’s only 4 more classes, and after I while I said hell no, I want out, so I changed it back to Marketing. I figured that if I got a degree in marketing that it would be a degree I would use even if I never go into marketing. But so far I’ve been hooked on marketing it’s something I want to do. It’s fun to me, so many people are like “Uch, marketing”
So that brings me up to this semester, May 13th is day. The damn strategy class. And the job hunt. I think I have skills and I surprise myself at times. I’m not a very type A person, I’m more laid back and type B as I call it LOL. But this past year has really brought out more in me. Working with the family showed me college has paid off. Its well worth the investment. Also some temp jobs I’ve done really showed me that I’m not as shy as I thought I was.
Another great addition to my life is Thomas. We are so much a like but we’re so different too. It’s scary at times we’re so much a like, it’s like he can read my mind. But there are so many differences too. Thomas as I have described him has a very large personality. Which is true and he’s very out going and very Type A. The perfect example of this is with softball, I told him I’d go on the worst team in the league and have fun, cause I just like to play. He was like “OH NO, we gotta get you to win” or something like that. Well I suck at softball, I mean I’m bad, but I have so much fun playing so I just have fun. I’m the sappy, it’s not if you win or loose it’s if you have fun playing the game. Which I know when Thomas reads this he’ll be like “boy didn’t I teach you anything LOL. But that’s me.
So life in the last year has really turned around and I really like it. I need to do more with the blog and I will. Hell I was just going to type in how burned out I was this just evolved into this.
Oh, before I forget, the second part of the headline. Well this week at our house had some excitement. My mother totally burned popcorn, I’m not talking, the mildly burnt, I’m talking smoke filled the house and part of the microwave got burnt. The house smelled for two days. How poetic for the burned out posting.
Lastly, The hot guy of the week will be posted tomorrow rather then Friday. Just becaue I have my conference Friday and then a weekend with the man. And actually the next few weeks I may move it to posting it Thursday, but we’ll see.
Have a good one guys.
