Gout and the new Joint

Ok, some of you know that I have gout and for those of you don’t. I have gout. You ask what is gout. Well I’m glad you asked, it’s a sudden build up of uric acid in the blood stream and usually at night, when the body cools the uric acid forms crystals in your joints, very small very sharp crystals. It sucks, and I’ve had this since I was 26, so almost 10 years, and it’s a joy to live with NOT. It has affected me in my right foot, and left hand. Which sucks since I am left handed.

Well, as you know I’ve had problem with my calf muscle and well guess where the gout struck, no, not the bad knee, but the good knee. Yes that’s right. I got up Sunday and through, I’ll put some ice on my knee, it must be strained tendons in my knee, which I had in my other knee, and I put ice on it and it got worse, the brace hurt when I wore it and I knew it could only be one thing. For those are not familiar with gout, it’s like driving a nail in the joint and having to talk. It hurts that bad. No matter what you do it hurts, when I have it in my foot the weight of the sheet puts me in excruciating pain. Yes I’m serious.

Luckily there are drugs to take, but they take a while to kick in, I started taking them at 3 PM yesterday and it wasn’t till midnight that they finally kicked in. But I actually go sleep and sill need a nap. I have to head to Walgreen’s and get another knee brace for my knee. And the Gout had caused problems with my good knee, so It’s pissing me off, GRRRR.

So now you know why I haven’t posted, much but I’m going to try to post a few more times this week. To tell you how bad it was last week, I forgot about the hot guy of the week till Thursday night, which I usually have it done earlier in the week or a few weeks out but I’ll try to keep up with postings.

Where have I been?

Well I guess some of you are wondering where have I been? Well this month has sucked. I injured my knee specifically pulled my calf muscle, which if you’ve never done it sucks big time. Things have been a roller coaster. One day I’m good the next I’m popping pain pills like its candy. Things were finally getting better when I fell over the weekend. We were at Mary’s a bar in East Atlanta and they had the evil of all evils, Karaoke! And I’m not talking good Karaoke, I’m talking American Idol reject Karaoke, I can sing better then most of these people.

So me and Thomas were leaving, and I was trying to get through the crowd, which is packed, Mary’s is a small bar and very hard to walk through, well walking through the crowd, I lost my balance. And having a bad calf muscle I could never fully regain my balance, I kinda hopped through the crowd, I think I even pushed someone out of the way, and when the crowd finally cleared I fell right in front of the jukebox. But before I feel I lost Thomas in the crowd and when I fell it was in slow motion. You know when you have those things happen in your life your brain starts functioning so fast that it seems its slow motion. I just remember the falling sensation and was like “OH F*CK”, and I tried to break my fall and put the good knee in front to take most of the impact, but that didn’t work too well, I hit with my good knee first, and then my torso and finally the bad knee. I was wearing a knee brace that is the same material as wet suit, well kinda, and I felt the knee hit the ground and then I even felt the knee hit the cushion of the knee brace, then the pain set it, I couldn’t stand up I was laying right there in the floor and there was a guy and a girl standing by and they came to my aid, they helped me up and I sat on a bar stool and at this point I was in such pain I was crying, yeah that’s right crying, you got something to say about that. The girl was so kind and asked was I with someone, but I was in such pain that I could barley get out, Thomas, and she asked where is he, and I saw him in the crowd and he went an got him and he and one of the bartenders helped me to the car. I got to Thomas’ house and got in bed. Luckily the knee didn’t go out totally like it did at the beginning, I could walk that night and this week has been up and down, nothing majorly painful. But I can finally bend the knee and stretch it some and can sleep with out pain. The one thing that sucked the most is when I would fall asleep I would jump right when I fell asleep, and it would jolt me awake, and cause pain in the knee, luckily this has stopped, well I did jump the other night and it didn’t’ bother me so we shall see how it goes.

Tonight I think the tendons in the knee are bothering me, so I am icing it and hopefully it will be great tomorrow. So you know my fun, and boy what fun it is, I have to get together tonight the Cute guy of the week for tomorrow, usually its done earlier in the week but not today, I have an idea and if I find enough pics I’ll post it tomorrow if not I’ll thing of another theme. West Wing Rides off the Airwaves

Well it’s official as of last night. This is to be the last season of West Wing. Which if you’re read my blog for a while you know is one of my favorite shows. I really like the writing, characters and acting on the show. Since Adam Sorkin left the show has not been as good as the beginning It hasn’t been bad but the dialogue and the mood of the show has been different.

NBC has decided to end the series after the run of the season on May 14th. How ironic is the day after graduation for me. That show will be the inauguration of the new President. They said the decision was made before John Spencer died but was announced this past Sunday. Along with other changes from the NBC line up. NBC said that this was their worst season ever. Well, I will say some of their shows this season suck. But that’s not for me to decide.

But I’m sad to see West Wing go but it will live on in DVD and Bravo. I guess the next question is who’s going to win?

Infomercials must DIE!

As I lay here in bed, wishing my physician was Dr. Kevorkian to put me out of misery with my knee, I’m trapped with late night TV. Every time I got to sleep, I don’t know if I jumped in my sleep or had spasms in my knee and sent me reaching for the pain pills. It’s driving me crazy, just when I think it’s getting better it doesn’t. Its working my last nerve.

I think I have covered that daytime TV is driving me crazy and if I have to watch one more talk show or court show I’m going to have to go postal. But there is a new evil in our airwaves. INFOMERCIALS. OK, I admit I used to love to watch the Psychic Friends Network ones with Dionne Warwick. I could tell when they just re-edited one to make it new and when it was an actual new one. I loved those. They were at least entertaining. Well to me it was.

Ok, there are a few stations that run programming all night, and god love them, even if it sucks. TV Land and Nick at Nite run really bad and old sitcoms, I haven’t had that many pain pills yet, A&E runs programs, nothing like Crossing Jordan at 3 AM. And Cartoon network runs Adult swim, which they were running that Japanamation crap, which I just don’t get, never have, I don’t understand the draw of it. It’s just reinforces my opinion that the Japanese must be on some hardcore drugs to come up with that stuff. Lastly, Bravo has programming all night, but this is the third time I’ve seen this episode of Project Runway, and it’s pretty sad I’d rather watch the episode again rather then try and navigate my way through the crap that is on TV tonight. I think TNT runs programs as well.

Ok back to the evil things on our airwaves. If they were somewhat innovative or entertaining I wouldn’t mind. They all consist of rip off real estate investments, gym equipment, Girls Gone Wild, pharmaceuticals and anything else you can put in a 30 minute commercial. I long for the old days where at 1 am or so stations signed off and went down for the night. I’d have more respect for a network if they did that then transmit the crap from the infomercial. Who sits at home and goes, hmm hey, I think I need be the next Donald Trump and this guy is going to tell me how to be a real estate Mogul. HELLO, NEWS FLASH, if this guy has the next best thing in investment, why is he going to sell it to you? I guarantee if you watch one of these and go on eBay you can find the same programs for around $1.

And then there are the ones with Celebrity endorsers, I saw Gary Collins on one just a second ago. I didn’t stop to see what he was harking. I’m telling you if I had a gun I would have shot my TV. I say we should be able to send all the infomercial celebrity endorses to a Celebrity Death match, oh oh, better yet, have a Celebrity Lost show, where we strand them on an Island and they have to fend for themselves and when they get voted off the island they have to take there chances in the currents of the ocean, you maybe found you may not, but you have a better chance of being found then anyone finding your career after doing an infomercial. Remember the flack Cher received in the 80s about the hair care products she endorsed? It even made a SNL skit.

One bad thing about Bravo at night is that you have these really long commercials, Like 90 to 120 seconds, I call them mini infomercials, They suck equally, but oh well.

Where have I been?

Hey guys, Sorry I haven’t posted much this week I have a few posts I want to do but with my calf muscle/knee going out, I haven’t felt like posting anything or taking the time to write. And to top it off yesterday I had to get a crown done because a filling fell out and my jaw is so sore, I feel like crap, I can’t walk well and I’m so tired of the knee it’s been going on for three weeks, it gets better then worse and back and forth. But I will post hot guys on Friday and hopefully some more too. If I feel up to it I’m going to post tonight, I didn’t get any sleep the last two nights and hope I can tonight

Apple Inside!

Wasn’t yesterday a swift kickin the pants for us Mac boys! And I mean in a good way. Well yesterday they announced the new Intel Macs. Which from the beginning I have been very skeptical about but I guess with them being twice as fast as the regular Power PC ones is a good thing. I read a little about them and ok, I’m not so concerned now. They Duo chip has two chips in one, I’m like SCHWING!


The only thing that is going ot be a pain is that now you have to look for the Universal code symbol, and have it run on the Intel Mac, but it says that most programs will run on it But I go back to the two times faster thing, hmmm, I notice my iBook is so much faster then my older iMac, so I so want a new one now. Can’t afford it but I want it!


The next great thing from Apple is the Garage Band Pod Cast Studio. This is like the easiest way to do a podcast now. It has loops, sound effects and all sorts of extras now. It also has the capabilities to do chapters, which before you had to download some program and it was a cluster F*ck to figure out. Podcasting was never easier. For you PC boys I pity you today. But MS will take another idea from Mac and make their own stuff, but not as good. Long live the Mac. Will keep you posted on the new Garage Band, when my school money gets in I’ll have to get it.

I Knew There Was A Reason I Hate Government Institutions

Ok, as many of you know I am in my last semester for school, and I’m so ready to be done. So, I started school tonight, and I should have known it was going to be a crapfest from the get go. I drive in to school, nothing wrong, I was listening to Chad Fox’s podcast and having a good time, park and get a great spot, which is rare for GSU on the first day. Then go to class, now this is where the fun begins. The class I’m taking is one that is required for all Business school majors to take their last semester.

I get to class early and sit down, in the front of class, yeah I’m a dork like that, but if I sit in the back or sides, I’m to easily distracted and know if I sit right in front I’ll pay attention. So as the time approached for class, the room kept getting full, and before the professor got in, it was running over, we had about 5 or so people sitting on the floor. After role was taken we found out 10 of them were in search of overflows. So things are are a little too crowded, I felt like I was on the last boat out of Cuba before Catro took over.

Then I went to the bookstore, and well I get my books, for three classes its $425, yeah there are so many other things I can buy with that money, so I go up to pay for them, and before I get to that, GSU doesn’t give financial aid out before class because that would be too easy, they wait till after registration is over and then they send you your check. So you get a credit at the bookstore, well I go to the book store and get my books and go to pay and the cashier is, you only have a credit of 200 dollars, are you going to pay for the rest? I said, honey I have 160 in my checking account and 130 is going to my car payment, so you tell me. She said, I guess not. So I go over to the One stop shop, another whole entry of how government sucks, and of course at 8 they are closed. So I have to go tomorrow and say, give me my damn money, I’m getting 450 to buy my books or else. Being unemployed and not having an income I can’t buy any books right now, and I’ll have to pick and choose what books to get now. So of course now I’m pissed off, I was going ot meet a friend at a bar and have a drink, but I called him and said, I’m going home to be bitter and alone. I always say, if you’re going to be better, at least do it alone!

So I get home and try to relax, without any alcohol, and watch Las Vegas. After I get what I need of the school website, I fix me some popcorn and sit down, well guess what happens, the front filling came out, yet again, I swear I’m capping my whole mouth, so I have to call the dentist tomorrow, but they know me all too well. I think if they had a customer of the month that would be me. So what a day, tomorrow is kick ass day, and I still need a job, so tomorrows post will be get me a job, so I’ll keep you posted, just needed to vent!

Podcast Part Two Update

Ok, I was IMing with Darin last night from All Prep and No H and was working on my podcast as well. I was all psyched and doing it and recorded and mixed it all but when I listened to it, OMG can we say crapfest! So I have decided to totally redo it. I have done one thing done and planning do a lot more with it then what was done.

Just an overview being laid up with my bad knee, I guess I was tired and nothing was funny, and it sounded like I was reaching. Which so is not me, in the words of someone I know “I’m not that guy” so I decided to shelf the podcast and try again. Maybe one day I’ll have the lost files of Terminally Single.

I’m at a loss, I’m trying to get the opening done and have it somewhat professionally sounding, but last night I was tired while doing it and never ever do it tired. I think I yawned once. GRRRR. But I’m working on it and I have to ask Darin where he gets his sounds from, I don’t have many. But will email and ask him. I guess the biggest obstacle to me with podcasting is there is no one to bounce things off of or have a reaction from. Its kinda like radio, you go, but maybe some podcaster out there or blogger will do one with me sometime. That would be a blast. Hey if you’re in the ATL hit me up, or even if you’re not. I know a perfect person but I doubt I can convince them to do it, but it’s all good

Just wanted to update you on it have a great day, while I’m stuck here in bed, and not in the good way. Damn knee, oh well cya!

ARGH! Bring the Pain Killers

If there are no new posts the next few days you’ll know why. I slept wrong on my knee and either sprained or pulled my calf muscle. I can’t walk and last night no matter how I tried to sleep my knee hurt. AGRH, it wasn’t till I put on a knee brace, that I finally got some sleep. The only problem is that the knee brace digs into my knee cap and It drives me crazy after a while. So I have to look into getting a new one today. But while I was trying to sleep I found out two things, Nick at Nite plays programming all night and I’m not talking bad infomercials, and second I know why they play the programming.

They had some of the cheesiest shows of all time. I started out with Rosanne, then it went to Different World, then Cosby Show and I briefly remember Murphy Brown (after the Tylenol PM), the it goes down hill from here, to Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Who’s the Boss, The Jeff Foxworthy Show and Full House, yes it was a very interesting mix.

I realized a few things: I still think Rosanne is a funny show after all these years. The Cosby Show is ok, and I still am in love with Murphy Brown. But that’s the good. I think that Who’s the Boss is pretty cheesy. The episode dealt with Tony had his first kiss with Angela, yeah right, only in a sitcom. Second that Haley Joel Osmit and Jonathan Lipnicki played Jeff’s kids and it was BAD, OMG it was bad. Lastly is there anything that can be said about Full House? I thought not.

I hope my knee gets better or I find my remote next time. Be good till then

TV is My Crack Part II

Yeah this will prove that TV is my crack. I learned yesterday the TV show VIP with Pamela Anderson is coming out on DVD, yes that’s right. I said Pamela Anderson.



Ok, there are two shows I really want on DVD, VIP was one of them and the other is the Love Boat. Both are very cheesey and to me just fun.



OMG I just checked TVShowsonDVD.com and they reported in September that Love Boat is coming to DVD this year. This is going to be a great 2006. Fro DVDs that is. You know they have put out everything you can imagine on DVD with the exception of Batman the 60s series, the Love Boat and VIP. I say this because What’s Happening, What’s Happening Now, White Shadow, Diff’rent Strokes and more have come out on DVD, and they actually sold, talk about some crack.

Just thought I’d keep you updated and to show TV is my crack!

Merry New Year!

Yeah, I’m cashing in on the people tired of Happy Holidays, which is a whole other topic. But here I sit in bed, I sprained my calf muscle again, which I’ve done a few times and I’m usually laid up for a week or more. But this time I don’t think It’s so bad. If Thomas hadn’t come along, I’m sure I would have had to marry a doctor. But New Years was great, I spent most the week with Thomas and we ran around preparing for brunch on Sunday and had 11 people there, and it was so damn delicious. It was well worth it. But Thursday or Friday, my knee/calf started to bother me and by Sunday I sucked big time. I could hardly walk. After brunch and hanging out I came home and about died. I put the heating pad on it and it’s a lot better today. But my goal was to be laid up in bed for the next two days, surfing the net, applying for jobs and the like and what do you think happened this morning, DSL went down and is still down. It’s pissing me off. This is the first really big problem I had with Earthlink. I hope they get it fixed ASAP.

I have one New Years resolution; It’s to do stand up before the end of the year. Yes it’s true, I have put It on here and expect you all to make sure I do it before the end of the year. This is really going to be a big year for me, first off I graduate college finally, The relationship with Thomas is very good, I love him very much, it’s been something out of the blue,. I get to start my career, and I’m sure there are things going on that I don’t remember right now.

There’s one change I want to make with the blog, I have some things happening with another blogger and his site, which I won’t go into right now I’m still trying to finalize it, but I really would love to do hot guy of the week with other bloggers, kinda the way Instinct Magazine did with Ethan Reynolds, from Brat Boy School. I know we have some hot bloggers out there and it would be fun. We’ll see what we can get going, or heck even hot guys on the net with their own web sites. Just an idea.

OK I’m so bored, I need some internet, I’m watching the Oprah rerun with Faith Hill from last Wed or Tues, and it’s good don’t get me wrong but I had the day planned with looking for a job and posting some resumes, and the net wasn’t up for an hour before it was down. I got up took some drugs, for my knee, and was getting settled, and bang, no Internet. GRRRRRR.

Also, I have a friend MIA. J2, I haven’t heard from in a few days, he was supposed to have a big New Years with B, and I haven’t heard a word, I wonder what’s going up with that. I told him on his voice mail, either your dead, having sex or in jail so get back with me.

I had such a great response from the podcast, that I’m going to give it another go this week, before school starts. Heck I had feedback from people I didn’t know and it was good, I promise I’ll get better as I do it! Hope you all had a Happy New Year!
